Children's Garden Coronavirus Plan

CHILDREN’S GARDEN CHILDCARE CENTERS PLAN FOR REOPENING

Please be advised that Children’s Garden Childcare Centers will reopen on June 8, 2020 and will be open during our normal operating hours. As always, we are committed to you and your child’s well-being. We continue to evaluate CDC guidelines for childcare centers and therefore, we have enhanced our processes and policies to ensure that we have the highest standards of care. To this extent, we will implement the following:

NEW HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

1. New touchless thermometer screening

Beginning June 8, we will implement temperature screenings for all children and families upon drop off to the center. Screenings will be done via touchless thermometers. Anyone in the family with a temperature of 100.4 or higher means that the child will not be accepted for care and will be unable to return without clearance from a physician.

2. Face coverings will now be required for all staff and any adult entering the center.

All staff and any adult entering the building will be required to wear a face covering over your nose and mouth at all times except during break times in designated areas.

3. Daily health acknowledgement upon drop off.

Each staff member and/or family member will acknowledge that neither you nor anyone in your household has exhibited COVID 19 related symptoms in the past 14 days.

4. Children, staff and anyone entering the building will be required to wash their hands upon arrival.

Anyone entering the building will wash their hands immediately upon entry into the facility. In addition, we will have hand sanitizer placed at the entrance of all centers.

5. A strict access policy will be implemented.

All children will be received in our immediate entry areas. Parents will be asked to remain outside or in our receiving areas as this will limit traffic in an out of the center. We kindly request that the parents allow us to receive their children outside of the center and we will also bring the children outside at pick up time.

6. Bags from home will no longer be permitted into the center.

Disposable bags will be provided at drop off. You will be asked to remove all items including food, clothing, pampers, wipes, etc and place them into our disposable bags. We ask that you do not send containers. If you must send in a container, it will be wiped down. Car seats will not be permitted to be stored at the center.

7. All trips will be suspended.

Children’s Garden will be creative in providing safe and fun activities for the children. However, trips will be suspended until further notice.

8. Classroom changes will be implemented.

Unused classrooms will be used in order to spread children out. In the classrooms, chairs will be spread out as much as possible. Children will not sit face to face and students will not share items. Large group time will be eliminated as much as possible. Family style eating will be eliminated. Each child’s food will be plated separately by food personnel. Children will remain with the same group throughout the day. Mats will be spread out and children will be placed head to toe. Cloth dolls and other toys will be removed from all classrooms. Each child’s bedding will be stored in individual bags. Staff will be required to wear gloves during all meals including infant feedings.

9. Sanitation procedures will be increased.

The centers and all toys and equipment will be cleaned an disinfected daily. We will clean and disinfect frequently touched services numerous times throughout the day.

10. Staff will be vigilant in reporting symptoms of Covid 19 to management.

Staff will be required to immediately communicate with facility management if and when they start to feel ill or if they observe any symptoms appearing in the any child under their immediate care. Sick children and staff will be removed to a separate area away from the general population until they are removed from the center.
